The 11th African Conference on Research Reactors Safety, Operation & Utilization took place in Pretoria from 24 to 26 November 2025. It was hosted by Necsa in collaboration with the IAEA and AFRA. Maurice Mashau of the Radiation and Reactor Technology department of Necsa presented a paper entitled: “Research reactor operational support capabilities in the OSCAR-5 code system as applied to the SAFARI-1 Research Reactor.”
Members of the RRT department promoted Necsa’s OSCAR-5 code system in the exhibition area for the duration of the conference. Many informative discussions took place with conference attendees and is hoped to have laid the foundation of fruitful collaboration in reactor analysis across the continent.
