During the period of 1 – 5 September 2025, the OSCAR team hosted an OSCAR-5 introductory training workshop, at Pelindaba, South Africa. Participants included Necsa staff and students, as well as delegates from the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC).

From 14 to 17 April 2025, the OSCAR team held an OSCAR-5 user group meeting. We were kindly hosted by NRG in Petten, the Netherlands. Participants came from Necsa as well as NRG-PALLAS and TU-Delft in the Netherlands.

The OSCAR team is planning a four-day OSCAR-5 training workshop for February 2022, with the focus on model management and advanced applications

The latest release of OSCAR-5 (v 1.2) is available for download and installation as from June 2021

OSCAR has recently been extended to handle Pebble and Prismatic High temperature reactor designs. See the latest documentation for an explanation of the available features. A number of SMR reactor design examples have also been added to the OSCAR-5 benchmark set.
